Do the Alumni Hawks Still Got It?

Do the Alumni hawks still got it? The past week was a very important weekend for Humber Athletics, it was Alumni weekend. Saturday afternoon the mens and womans varsity basketball and volleyball teams played there Alumni. We are very pleased to say that at Humber the athletic talent continues to increase with all for teams winning their Alumni matches. So unfortunately for the old Hawks it seems that they don't still have it.

Along with Alumni weekend we had the home opener for mens rugby and season opener for womans rugby. The mens game was on Wednesday against Conestoga College it was a very close call for our boys considering Conestoga was in the lead for the majority of the game but then with two tries closer to the end the boys were able to pull through, leaving the fans with a suspenseful game. For womans rugby having there first ever OCAA game they went out strong showing other teams in the league that they are not going down without a fight pulling out a 10-0 win over Loyalist.

Our soccer and baseball teams were also very busy this weekend with the following score from the weekend:

Womans Soccer, Humber-1 vs St. Clair-0 and Humber-10 vs Lambton-0

Mens Soccer, Humber-5 vs St.Clair-0 and Humber-6 vs Lambton-0

Mens Baseball, Double header against York Humber split one game to one, and for the double header against St.Clair Humber took both games!

Along with the busy game schedule for the weekend Humber Athletics held their annual gala on Friday. This with lots of games, auctions and raffles, also the gala is used every year to show family, friends and supporters of the Humber Hawks what athletics is all about at Humber giving everyone a chance to get to know all of the players, coach's and all the staff in athletics.
